Held in Fair Park, it is the second oldest Irish festival in the United States and largest in the southwest. The festival has a proud tradition of being an exclusively volunteer organization that brings over 35,000 guests to Dallas each year. As the second largest cultural event held in Fair Park, it occupies the largest buildings and largest open area on the site. Fair Park has been home to the festival for 24 of it's 25 years, having moved from it's first location on Oak Lawn in 1984. The festival is produced by the Southwest Celtic Music Association.

This year's
Buckeye Dulcimer Festival, in Ashley, Ohio, features a 'campus' type atmosphere from Wednesday through Friday including 10 hours of intensive instruction (5 hours each on Thursday and Friday), teacher-led jams, and open stages on Thursday and Friday. After 3:00pm on Friday afternoon, we move to a weekend festival setting. This year's instructors are ... Mountain Dulcimer, Hammered Dulcimer, Guitar, Banjo, Fiddle, Autoharp -- all acoustic instruments welcome. "Lets Gather at the River" Jamming begins early in the week throughout the park. The festival is held in the Museum for East Texas Culture (the old John H. Reagan High School) located at 400 Micheaux, Palestine, Texas. It is inside the Loop right off of Hwy 19/287 and just south of the courthouse. You can't miss it. The old, multi-story school building is red brick and sits back on the far side of Reagan Park.
